It's not every day you get to announce that one of your lifelong dreams is coming true.
My writing journey so far has been surreal and twisty, sprinkled with rock bottom moments, and exhilarating highs. Surrounded by an army of amazing writer friends who have mentored, nurtured, celebrated, and cried with me. Sustained by my super-patient family who believe in me, and support the time I spend in pursuit of this elusive career. I can only hope my kids will be stronger for having watched their mom pick herself up after each stumble, and carry on, determined to believe in and work for this dream.
From my junior high days, hand writing novels in ragged notebooks...
To my first NaNoWriMo in 2005, typing frantically during toddler naps...
From landing my first agent in 2013...
To getting chosen for Pitch Wars 2019 by my incredible mentor, Nicole Panteleakos...
To signing with my dream agent, Sarah Davies in March 2020...
From my first official publication offer last October—for my fourth completed novel, LEMON DROP FALLS...
To a second offer on that same book a couple of weeks later...
To decisions and contract negotiations, calls and emails with my amazing editor, Mari Kesselring of North Star Editions.…
To the signing of one VERY important, life-changing contract
And of course... that's not how we sign contracts nowadays. :) It's more like this.
Sixteen years since the grownup start of my writing journey, and nine years since I decided to pursue this seriously as a professional, this day is finally here.
Guys… kids are going to get to read my books. Starting with this one. Coming January 25, 2022
